Changing your password

How to change your password?

Regularly changing your password is a good way to practice securing and protecting your account and personal information from hackers as it is very important for users to enhance security and safety and reduce the risk of unauthorized access to either your account or personal data. You must remember to use strong and unique passwords for each of your accounts to enhance your online security.

If you want to change your password to a new one for further safety and security reasons, then here are the important requirements and steps for you to help.

Requirements

  • Your existing account in this website.

  • The password of your existing account.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before following the important steps below, you need to sign up if you do not have your existing account or login if you have one. Also, only the owner and site collaborators can change their login emails and passwords in Wix Account Settings.

Follow the Steps

Step 1: Click/tap the dropdown icon (or a three vertically dotted icon in your profile)

If you are in any page of this website than your account page, click/tap the dropdown icon beside your profile picture and a notification bell to open up the account menu.

Step 2: Go to your Account Settings

After clicking/tapping the dropdown icon (or a three vertically dotted icon in your profile), click/tap the Account Settings menu item (or Edit Profile menu item in your profile) to directly go to your account settings.

Step 3: Scroll down until you see the Login info header

Scroll down the Account Settings page until you see the Login info header, including the Login email and Password labels.

Step 4: Click/tap the Change Password link

Under your login e-mail address, click/tap the underlined Change Password link to pop up the lightbox with the Change password header.

Step 5: Change your password to a new one

In this lightbox, there are three fields: Your password, New password, and Confirm new password. However, these fields are mandatory. So they require you to fill all of them by entering your password, your new password, and your confirm new password.

Step 6: Click/tap the Change button or Cancel button

If you are done setting up your password, your new password, and your confirm new password, then click/tap the Change button to save changes. If you want to keep your password for your login e-mail address, just click/tap the Cancel button.

If you forgot your password, then proceed to the next step. But if you know your password, skip to the Conclusion.

Step 7: Click/tap the underlined Reset or create password link

Whenever you forgot your password for logging your account in, then simply click/tap the underlined Reset or create password link so that we can send an e-mail to your inbox.

Step 8: Check the inbox of your e-mail address if there is an e-mail for changing your login password

We sent an e-mail that allows you to reset your login password to your inbox. To do this, go to the inbox of your e-mail address and check if there is an e-mail with a subject titled Create Your New Password. If you found this e-mail, then click/tap it to open up.

Remember that the e-mail we sent will be expired in more than 5 minutes.

Step 9: Click/tap the underlined Create New Password link

Once you opened up the e-mail, then click/tap the underlined Create New Password link to get ready for creating your new login password.

Step 10: Reset your password

In the popup box with the Reset password header, enter your new password below by filling up the two required fields. First off, enter a new password. And then confirm new password.

Step 11: Click/tap the Reset Password button

When you are done resetting your password to a new one, then click/tap the Reset Password button to begin the process.

NOTE: Remember to follow and acknowledge the Terms of Use.

Step 12: Click/tap the OK button when you are done setting up your new password

If you are done setting up your new password and the text that says "Your password has been changed" is appeared, then click/tap the OK button.

Conclusion

You now changed your password to a new and better one. Remember that the password you set must privately keep it to your mind and never publicly share it to anybody.

If you changed your password, then the following things typically happen:

  • Access Control: Your old password will not work, and you will need to use the new password to log in to your account.

  • Security: Changing your password regularly can help prevent unauthorized access to your account, especially if your old password was compromised.

  • Account Protection: It adds an extra layer of security to your account, reducing the risk of someone else gaining access to your personal data.

  • Notifications: Some services may send you a notification or e-mail to confirm that your password was changed successfully.
